LOGANVILLE, Georgia – Police near Atlanta, Georgia arrived to a catastrophic scene early Thursday morning near Atlanta, Georgia after responding to a stabbing call.
When their mom opened the doorway to officers, they discovered her four kids, all under the age of eight, along with their dad, stabbed to death.
A fifth child was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, alongside the unthinkable psychological trauma of losing her family.
Police say that the mother is a suspect and they shot her in for questioning.
Though officers haven’t released an objective, neighbors say that the woman was depressed over the recent death of their dad.
Neighbors told WSB-TV that the household was new to the region and had only transferred to the home from Illinois a month.
Neighbors also say the mother may have stayed with her dead household for 24 hours before the offense was reported, leading to her arrest.
“I really don’t want anyone in this area to think that we have got a mad man running around attempting to stab a person,” Gwinnett County Police Spokesman Michele Pihera informed WSB-TV.
Pihera states an adult female within the residence is the one who made the phone to 911, probably the mom.
No charges have been filed as police are still interviewing the woman.
