Lithuania to start paying child benefit to Most Kids next year – The Baltic Times
VILNIUS – All Of Lithuanian kids will each receive a monthly benefit of between 30 and 58.5 euros second year.
The measure had been passed by the parliament on Tuesday with 15 abstentions in a vote of 80 to one.
Some 30 euros in the so-called “kid money” will be paid monthly to each child below the age of 18 decades, or 21 if he or she’s a pupil, regardless of their parents’ income.
A family with many children will be paid some extra money and will be given a total of 58.5 euros per child aged up to 2 decades and 45.2 euros per child over two. The adjustments will be paid to families whose income per member doesn’t exceed 183 euros.
At present, only low-income parents and people with many children are eligible for “kid money”. Such parents receive 28.5 euros per month per child under two decades and 15.2 euros per child aged between 2 and 18 decades.
The parliament fought the income tax threshold for all parents. The threshold is set at 200 euros.
“This is kids’s money, not parents’ money,” Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis told reporters on Tuesday when working on the measure.
Skvernelis anticipates next year the child benefit is going to be raised and increases to 100 euros in the future.
“I feel this is an investment. If we managed to achieve at least 100 euros in the so-called kid money, it could be a significant boost to all families raising kids,” the ministry said.
“And it might be a biased variable — I am not even saying a crucial factor — in achieving a specific demographic breakthrough,” he further added.

Do Children Need Rules?
Rules. Do they restrict us keep us secure?
Do they restrict what we can do or do they give us reasonable boundaries to live our lives by?
I guess it depends on your view?
I like principles in certain situations.
For instance when driving my vehicle, I know that if coming a zebra crossing I need to stop to allow pedestrians cross the street.
When purchasing a drink in a bar I know I should allow the men and women who have been there ahead of me be served.
Rules could be useful, but they’re also able to restrict us that can restrict our joy of life occasionally.
Now considering our children, do you believe they want rules?
A few weeks ago I watched a video on the web of a mum raising her children without principles and without college. I believe that it was a clip from a TV show, but I can’t be sure.
Two of her children decided they needed to go to college. Her son said something along the lines of desiring or needing rules and structure.
Following a trial at a neighborhood school, the two children decided school wasn’t for them.
I’m for all letting children make their own decisions, however, if it comes to education I believe parents will need to measure in.
If you are not going to send your child to college, then you’ve got a responsibility to be certain they get a fantastic education in your home that is 100% potential.
Sadly, one of the woman’s sons could not write or read, even though being in an age where he needs to have the ability to do so.
Besides school, I do think children need rules and boundaries.

But, there is a fine line between controlling and rules our children.
For instance, I do not place a plate of food in front of my children and tell them to eat it without asking them exactly what it is they’d like to eat.
Allowing children to take control and make decisions about what they need for supper, what they wish to perform or read, or exactly what they need to do on the weekend will be critical.
Making decisions is a very essential life skill. Not only does it teach children to be decisive, it’s also teaching them how to be separate, which will in turn help them determine what path to take in life.
Rules such as wearing a college uniform and what time to be in college etc are significant, as it’s preparing them to their future such as when they go to get the job done. They will have reasonable expectations of what to expect and what will be expected of them.
So in conclusion, yes, I still do think children need principles. What do you believe?

After being pulled up from the Calcutta High Court because of its indefinite strike call in the Darjeeling hills, the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) has now been served as a show-cause notice from the West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights (WBCPCR).
Accepting suo-moto cognizance, the WBCPCR on Thursday served a note to the Morcha looking explanation as to why children were utilized in its political rallies. The commission says that the move could possibly ‘damage’ the cognitive and physical growth of those children who were made to take part in the rally.
On Wednesday, the Morcha had shot out a rally in Darjeeling where children were seen walking with Nepali knives or Khukuris in their hands.

Citing concern that budget cuts and “antiquated” technology will “all but guarantee children will die,” the director for the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) has announced her resignation.
In a letter to Gov. Eric Holcomb made public on Friday, ” Mary Beth Bonaventura said she could no longer serve the nation in good conscience because she sees children “being sporadically put at risk, with no ability to help them.”
“I choose to measure, rather than be complicit in decreasing the safety, permanency and well-being of children who have nowhere else to turn,” Bonaventura wrote.
Bonaventura, that has led DCS for the previous five years and has worked in child welfare for 36 years, mentioned the Senate’s recent appointment of Eric Miller as DCS’s chief of staff as one of the precipitating factors behind her departure. Bonaventura was court judge in Lake County for 20 years prior to being appointed to her post at DCS by former Gov. Mike Pence in 2013.
Bonaventura asserts that Miller, who was appointed by Holcomb in July, engineered his own hires, even bullied staff, made a hostile work environmentthat was “brazenly insubordinate.” She said she discovered no help to stop him when his budget cuts were first set forward.
In an official statement issued Friday, the Holcomb’s office thanked Bonaventura for her “years of support and her devotion to maintaining Hoosier kids protected.”
“I share that commitment and that is why the state continues to make investments in the agency,” Holcomb’s statement reads. “We are providing record funding to DCS with almost half a billion dollars more in funding support during the subsequent two years. We’ll continue to do everything we can to safeguard children.”
Despite Holcomb’s defense against the section, Bonaventura informed the Indianapolis Star which DCS’s Child Support Bureau is “on the verge of collapse due to antiquated technology” Bonaventura said that the section was on the brink of building a new system, using spent years procuring federal approval and matching capital, but that her team was abruptly ordered to stop work on the undertaking.
The governor’s strategy will lower contract numbers by $15 million, leaving over 1,000 households without the court-ordered solutions to which they are entitled, Bonaventura said.
In an exchange with StateScoop, the governor’s office declined to respond to the maintains of Bonaventura. The office says it is currently looking for a replacement to lead the “critical” state agency.
Though no longer with DCS, Bonaventura composed in her resignation letter that she will continue to be “the biggest advocate fore children and the people that are serving them”
